Name/Time
Stamping
For quick identification, freely selectable names for the selected
device and the camera currently connected can be displayed in the
video display. The name of the device is separated from the camera
name by a colon. The device name is configured on the page “Gen-
eral settings”.
The name is displayed in the left half of the picture, either at the top
or bottom edge. The date and time supplied by the battery-backed
realtime clock can be displayed at the top or bottom right-hand
edge of the picture.
All insertions are made by the
VideoJet X.21/G.703
before
image coding and are therefore an integral part of the transferred
video information. Subsequent manipulation is thus prevented.
Allocation of
Camera Name
The camera name is entered, as already described for alarm inputs
and outputs, by direct entry into a field. Again, the name is stored in
the non-volatile memory and is also used for the camera buttons on
dialog page “Video/Audio”.
Video Standards
The reception range of the input switching has been optimized for
operation with video cameras. The picture quality has been
improved by reducing the jitter of the lines to a minimum. Video
recorders usually give greater tolerance in video synchronization.
By selecting the setting “Video recorder” the reception range of the
input switching can be increased and also safely synchronizes
these signals. The video standards “PAL” or “NTSC” are automati-
cally recognized at the input.
It is also possible to explicitly set the video standard of the output
so that simpler monitors that only support one video standard can
be operated. This will be necessary on a receiver if the default set-
ting “PAL” is to be altered. The output setting has no effect on a
sender.
