Establishing a
Connection
The connection is established automatically with the
VideoJet
X.21/G.703
, i.e. there are no alarm call numbers and the func-
tion that only establishes a connection on an alarm does not exist.
As soon as a transmitting and a receiving device are connected to
an existing X.21/G.703 leased line, both devices establish a logic
connection to each other. Video data and all other data are then
sent along this connection.
Once the connection has been established, the system automati-
cally checks whether a
VideoJet X.21/G.703
is also con-
nected to the partner. If this is the case, the field “Remote Unit” is
displayed red and you can click on it to check and configure the
remote
VideoJet X.21/G.703
.
The display next to field ‘M’ shows the status of the X.21/G.703 con-
nection:

If you click on the yellow field “Local Unit” or the red field “Remote
Unit” is already connected you can check and configure the settings
of the connected or linked
VideoJet X.21/G.703
system.
These actions are described in more detail below.
Status Displays
of
NCTerminal
The user interface of
NCTerminal
shows the status of the alarm
input and output. It is also possible activate the output by clicking
on the display. This is especially helpful for testing the connected
peripherals. The colour coding of the status display is listed in the
following table:
Black: No connection
Yellow: Connection being established or disconnected
Green: Connection up
