Selection check list
Coupling between electric motor and variator must be free and smo-
oth. The fastening bolts should not be tightened until both the varia-
tor and motor flanges are in contact. When mounting is complete,
check by manually rotating the motor’s shaft to be sure the assembly
turns freely (move the fan).
Make sure that mounting of pulleys or pinions doesn’t create
overhoung loads exceeding the capacity of shaft.
When mounting pinions, couplings or pulleys on shaft, avoid shock
by using appropriate extractor and threaded in the end of shafts
When mounting items on shafts, apply appropriate anti-seize and
oxidizer compounds; check the key dimension to avoid breakage.
If the variator has to be painted, protect machined surfaces and oil
seals from over-spray.
When variators are installed outdoors, make sure proteciotn is pro-
vided from atmospheric elements. With damp ambient, protect ma-
chined surfaces.
Make sure there is sufficient space between any obstructions and the
motor fan cover, to provide right cooling air for the motor.
If both variator and reducer feet are fixed, check the alignment of the
two basements to avoid the variator output shaft and reducer input
shaft work with bending.
!
Caution
For safety, Buyer or User should provide protective guards over all
shaft extensions and any moving component. The User is responsible
for checking all applicable safety codes in his area and providing
suitable guards. Failure to do so, may result in bodily injury and/or
damage to equipment.
