Code 20 Remote electric control
See attachments page 68-69-70
It permits to remotely control the adjustment device of the variator, and ensures
complete regulation throughout speed range from zero r.p.m. by means of the
push buttons (increase and decrease) set on a remote panel.
The control consists of a single-phase electric motor (1200 r.p.m., 50 Hz) with
a constantly connected condenser, a worm reduction gear with ratio 1/52 and
a clutch assembly which allows manual control of shaft 2, and permits also the
driving shaft to be stopped even though electric motor 12 is running.
OPERATION
When the electric motor 12 is started, the worm screw of the electric motor be-
gins to rotate. Motion is transmitted to coupled wheel 5 and to friction discs 3,
which are firmly secured to control shaft 2.
The friction discs 3, which are pressed by springs 23 against the inner face of
friction 7, transmit torque to it. Then the rotary motion will be transmitted to the
control shaft 2, which drives the variator through the control block 15, connec-
ted to the variator ring.
It is evident that the inner clutch 7 will automatically allow discs 3 to slide, when
the control shaft sets the variator to one of two max speeds (1430 r.p.m.).
SETTING
N.B.: Should the electric control not be able to perform the desired adjustment
over the full range of hydraulic gear (clutch slips), the electric control clutch
should be adjusted as follows:
With a hexagon wrench hold screw 25; with a 13 mm wrench screw max. one
fourth turn self-locking nut 17, to press and increase the friction 3-7.
INSTALLATION
Fill the variator with prescribed oil quantity and start the motor. Perform some
adjustments and check oil level again.
