Safety instructions
2.5.1
Safety during installation
Always park the implement on a level and stable
surface.
Reduce the pressure in the implement’s
hydraulics system to zero, using the float position
on the tractor’s hydraulic regulator. The
implement will rest on its discs and cpacker as a
result.
Before driving off, make sure that all nuts and
bolts are tight. After a couple of hours driving,
re-tighten the wheel nuts. Regularly check that
they are tight. Note that nuts must be tightened to
a specific torque (Nm).
Never stand near hydraulic hoses under pressure.
Recover all spilled oil after servicing the
hydraulics system.
Prior to connecting the hydraulic hoses, always
make sure the seed drill’s male couplings and the
female connectors on the tractor are clean and
free of dirt.
To maintain the machine’s high level of quality
and operational safety, use only Väderstad
genuine spare parts. The warranty and any claims
under it will become void if parts other than
genuine parts are used.
2.5.2
Safety instructions during work and
maintenance
Never be in such a hurry that proper safety
procedures are ignored.
When work is to be performed on the
implements, the machine must always be parked
on a stable and level surface.
Fold out and lower the implement to the ground
for all service and maintenance work.
Never work under the front tool unless it has
been secured with jack stands or similar.
Note that poor welding may result in serious
personal injury or fatality. If you are unsure,
contact a professional welding technician for
instructions.
Never stand near hydraulic hoses under pressure.
Recover any spilled oil after servicing the
hydraulic system.
Ensure that people who are near the seed drill
when the tractor’s engine is in operation maintain
an adequate safety distance from a suspended
load and from raised or moving machine parts.
Never dismantle a packer ring unit with steel
rings. The unit has been pressed together with a
force of 4 tonnes. Any attempt to dismantle it
risks causing injury. If you need to have the unit
dismantled, contact your dealer, as special tools
are required.
2.5.3
Safety during transport
National regulations relating to road transport
and safety should always be followed!
Before driving the tractor plus implement(s) on a
public road, remove any soil which is liable to
fall off, from both the tractor and the implement
(s).
Always ensure that the automatic stoppers have
been locked during transportation.
In order to avoid any risk arising by accidental
operation of the tractor's hydraulic controls
during road transport, the hydraulic hoses to the
implement’s lowering ram must be disconnected
from the tractor before commencing
transportation.
