8.
Verify if the removed piston drive has a date code label as shown in Figure 18-‐1.
Piston Drive Date Code Label
Figure 18-‐1
The piston drive date code label has a different color denoting different years of
manufacture.
Note: Please read the following instructions carefully as 2014 date code piston drives
will be difficult to fully seat earlier generation M-‐160 product.
9.
If installing a new black plastic piston drive with a 2014 or newer date code label,
remove the middle piston drive O-‐ring and re-‐use the O-‐ring from the original piston
drive. Failure to remove and replace the O-‐ring will result in the piston drive not fully
seating and engaging. See Figure 18-‐2.

10.
The O-‐ring for the piston drive with 2014 date code and newer is slightly larger in
diameter and will not allow the piston drive to properly seat.
11.
Make sure to apply a liberal amount of water lubricant to the to the O-‐rings before
installing the piston drive assembly. Align the 2 (qty) brass nozzle ports with the main
nozzle as shown in Figure 19-‐1 and align the molded tabs with the key-‐ways in the
piston drive cavity.
