To remove the piston drive you will need the following tools:
•
A 5mm Allen-‐head wrench
•
A #20 Torx Screwdriver of a #3 Philips head screwdriver for all M-‐160 models
manufactured after April of 2013,
•
A face-‐hole tool, p/n ZB 98236
•
An 18” length of ¼” aluminum round stock or a 18” long screwdriver
•
2 (qty) long-‐handled flat-‐head screwdrivers (if the cap and piston drive is brass)
•
A pair of long needle-‐nosed pliers
Note: Depending on the year of manufacturer, the cap on the piston drive may be brass.

Locate and remove the 2 (qty) Allen-‐head fasteners on the sprinkler cap. Set the cap
and fasteners to the side.

Locate and remove the black piston drive cover, see Figure 15-‐1.
For models manufactured after April of 2013, the cover is grey and has a 1 (qty) #20
Torx fastener or Philips-‐head fastener that must be removed completely and set
aside. D
o not throw away
as it will be needed once cleaning or replacement is
complete.

Using the face-‐hole tool, p/n ZB-‐98235 or pin-‐type spanner wrench loosen the cover
counter-‐clockwise see Figure 16-‐1.
