MEASUREMENT
The instrument is equipped with two inputs, one for the measurement of the RF signals and
one for the measurement of the optical signals.
The RF signal must be connected to the
RF IN (3)
input
The optical signal must be connected to the
OPT IN (6)
input
ATTENTION
RF INPUT:
voltage values exceeding the maximum limit (100 VDC or 5 Vpp) could
result in damage to the instrument. Never apply DC voltage to the input when
powering an LNB.
OPTICAL INPUT:
Optical power levels exceeding the maximum limit (+2dBm) could
result in damage to the instrument’s input. If necessary, the optional optical
attenuator can be used to measure optical power levels up to +12dBm.

RF MEASUREMENT
Press the
“MEA”
button to select the measurement function.
Set the unit of measure
Press the
2nd
and
D/A
buttons in sequence to select the analogue or digital mode for the
carrier to be measured. The measurement indicator on the status bar will change from
"LEV", for the measurement of the analogue level, to “POW”, for the measurement of the
digital carriers.
Set the appropriate modulator for the type of signal to be measured, TV for analogue
television video carriers, FM for Frequency Modulation carriers and AM for Amplitude
Modulation carriers.
The instrument will display the following information:
•
The level of the signal in numeric format.
•
The relative analogue signal in the form of a scaled bar.
•
The partial TV picture, if the TV demodulator has been selected.
•
The wave form of the TV line sync.
In audio:
•
Sound level indicator, if enabled.

The menu items include the following:
1.
TONE: enables or disables the acoustic level tone.
2.
UNIT: selects the level’s unit of measure
3.
INTEGRAL DCP: measures the power of the digital carriers in integral mode.
4.
DCP parameters: bandwidth setting of the digital terrestrial and satellite carriers for
correct integral measurement.
