Square Dial
The design of the square dial corresponds to the classic styling
popular at the beginning of the last century. With it, your Mechanica
M2 will visually approach the Metrica and Pandera models found in
Erwin Sattler’s current collection.
You Will Need:
◊
Square dial
Compartment (37)
◊
4 x cylinder-head screws M2 x 4
Compartment (20)
The square dial has neither a second hand nor a bezel
*
. Like the
standard dial, this dial is to be carefully placed on the four knurled
nuts of the pillars
*
and secure them using
four cylinder-head
screws M2 x 4.
Components
Suggestion:
Please use the gloves
included in the kit to
assemble the dial.
Contact with sweat
could otherwise
leave marks that
may be very difficult
to remove.
Adding the Hands
Then place the hands on their arbors
*
in the order listed below:
1.
Hour hand
2.
Minute hand (please note the alignment with respect to
the counterweight
*
as described on page 40)
Position the minute hand at the full hour. Hold onto the minute hand
and carefully move the hour hand toward an hour marker.
Test them by carefully moving the minute hand so that the hands
don’t touch each other or the dial.

Suggestion:
Use something like
the box your M2
came in or a piece
of paper to underlay
your workspace for
these steps in order
to avoid scratching
the bezel or dial.
Please use the gloves
included in the kit to
assemble the dial.
Contact with sweat
could otherwise
leave marks that
may be very difficult
to remove.
Components
Tools
Place both movement holder screws M4 x 30 and their corresponding
washers from below up through the seat-board and screw them to
the lower pillars. Ensure that the seat-board is positioned correctly;
the movement must be added so that the dial and bezel are at the
top and projecting slightly over the edge of the seat-board.
