10.1 SYSTEM
MAINTENANCE
The F4000 System is designed for high reliability and minimum maintenance.
In Australia, however, in order to comply with the requirements of AS1851.8, the
owner/occupier (or a nominated representative) must carry out system tests on a regular
basis.
In New Zealand, regular testing must be carried out to comply with NZS4512 parts 402 and
403.
10.1.1 WEEKLY TESTING - AUSTRALIA
The recommended procedure for weekly testing is:
STEP 1:
Advise the local Fire Control Station, if required, that you are about to
undertake a routine test of the fire system. Inform all building occupants that
the fire bells will be tested.
STEP 2:
Perform an LCD display/LED test.
STEP 3:
Test ONE alarm zone.
- Verify that:
(a)
Bells are Operated.
(b)
Alarm Signal is received by the Fire Control Station.
STEP 4:
Perform a Battery Test.
STEP 5:
Record the results of these tests in the Log Book.
STEP 6:
Inform the local Fire Control Station and all others concerned that the test is
concluded.
