3 Start-up
3.1 Start-up with the BLxx-2RFID-S and BLcompact RFID electronic modules
The following information contains a start-up example for the BLxx-2RFID-S and BLcompact electronic
modules. These RFID electronic modules only allow individual access to the data carriers.
As with HF, the start-up with UHF is completed via the process image (I/O mapping).
3.1.1 Firmware versions
The current firmware version of gateway, RFID electronic modules and read/write heads must at least
comply with the following minimum versions:

Refer to the relevant start-up manuals for a detailed description of the start-up
(see 2.1 “Support for BL ident® projects” page 2-1 ).
Note
The maximum permissible number of modules depends on the controller used.
However, a maximum of only ten BLxx-2RFID-S electronic modules can be fitted per gateway.
