11. RSTP

Order No. 006-130-102

Rapid Spanning Tree is a service to detect the topology of a network automatically. It is used to
prevent loops which can occur by a cable break or inactive port. The configuration setting is under

Configuration > RSTP

.

If  RSTP  is  activated  a  new  device  is  reachable  in  two  seconds.  In  that  time  the  RSTP  protocol  is
checking  if  the  connection  is  loop  free.  As  soon  as  two  ports  of  the  Switch  are  directly  or  indirectly
(over different switches) connected, the RSTP will block one of the two ports on a logical level.
