ERIFICATION

The mainboard stores the Triton Standard XScale\X2 application program and

the Electronic Journal records in memory. It supports three (3) status LEDs that

monitor power (green), processor reset (red), and the Windows CE OS start up

process (amber).
The GREEN (+5v present) LED on the mainboard should immediately turn on

when power is applied to the terminal. If the GREEN LED on the mainboard

never turns on, there may be a problem with the mainboard, power, or the dock-

ing board.
The RED LED (processor reset) should turn on when power is applied to the

terminal and immediately go off. If the GREEN LED is on and the RED LED never

turns on, there may be a problem with the mainboard.
The AMBER LED (Windows CE OS start up) should turn on when power is ap-

plied to the terminal. It should stay on for approximately 5 second and then go

off. If the GREEN LED is on and the AMBER LED never turns on, there may be a

problem with the mainboard.
If the terminal fails to boot (white screen and/or the Triton Standard application

program fails to complete the start-up sequence), there may be a problem with

the mainboard or software (Windows CE OS or the front end of the application ).

**CAUTION**

When power is applied to the terminal, the display will be white (full back-

light). If it remains white, or the Triton application starts and then hangs

up, certain Windows OS or Triton XScale\X2 software system fi les may have

failed to load or are corrupted. This may happen if the terminal is not shut

down properly using Management Functions!

NEVER TURN OFF THE TERMINAL WITH THE AC POWER ON/OFF SWITCH UNLESS THE

XSCALE\X2 SOFTWARE APPLICATION HAS BEEN TERMINATED WITH MANAGEMENT

FUNCTIONS (SHUTDOWN THE TERMINAL)!
