Red and Green status LEDs can be viewed on the backside of the T5 EPP assem-
bly. They are used to display the current operational status of the T5 EPP's in-
ternal (fi rmware) or external command (software) state. The basic operational
status of the T5 EPP can be verifi ed in the following way:
The green and red LEDs should briefl y turn on. (The EPP fi rmware is initializing.)
Immediately following, the green LED should be fl ashing at a slow 1 HZ rate
and the red LED fl ashing at a fast 2 HZ rate. (EPP fi rmware has initialized and is
waiting for the fi rst command.) Both LEDs should turn off when the EPP (SPED)
is initialized by the terminal software. (EPP application is ready.) If the LEDS
are in other static state after the T5 EPP has initialized, it may be necessary to
replace it.

1. Log into Management Functions.
2. Select option 2, Diagnostics. (Refer to the Diagnostics - Keypad section of
the XScale\X2 Confi guration Manual for additional information.)
3. Select option 8, Keypad.
4. Select option 3, Serial Number Changed. (This option will only be available
if an existing tamper condition of this nature has been detected.)
5. Press the F7 Reset Terminal Error function key to clear the error status.
*NOTE*
This error will occur when the keypad has been replaced with a T1 VEEP
version SP-05 (or higher) or the T5 PCI Sagem EPP. It may also occur
when a terminal is fi rst installed.
**IMPORTANT**
The T5 PCI Sagem EPP requires Triton software version 2.2.1 or higher.
Tampers cannot be cleared. If the T5 PCI Sagem EPP detects a tamper
condition, it must be replaced and returned for repair.
