Testing WCS Signal Quality and Battery Life

To test the radio signal quality between the WCS and the WCI, and WCS battery life:

1. Press the WCS center keypad button twice.

2. Observe the radio signal quality symbol on the display and refer to

“Viewing Unit Controller

Operating Status ,” p. 59

Additional unit controller operating status data may appear on the display. For more

information, see

“Viewing Unit Controller Operating Status ,” p. 59

.

3. Record the results in your commissioning statement.

100–50% battery life remaining.

50–3% battery life remaining.

Less than 3% battery life remaining.
When the remaining battery power is approximately 1%, the battery symbol will flash on the main
display screen. In the test mode display screen, the empty battery symbol will not flash.

Checking Signal Quality on a Site

Follow these steps to check the signal quality on a site:

1. Power up a WCI with a 24 V transformer (user supplied).

2. Associate the WCS to a WCI of the same model that is intended for the job.
