Connecting your TV
When user performs a Timer Recording while in
Personal Mode A/B/C/D, after the transition to Set
Timer, make the Default for Personal Grouping (a Set
Timer setting item) be a selection item corresponding to
whatever mode you are in�
When you perform OTR, TimeShift, or Timer Recording
while in Normal Mode, the Personal Grouping for
recorded programmes will be remembered as “None�”
Using the MHL Function
You can use the following functions by connecting the
HDMI 4 port on the TV and the USB port on a mobile
phone, etc� with the MHL cable�
•
MHL
: Mobile High-definition Link
• Charging the mobile phone from the TV.
• Two-way remote operation between the TV and the
mobile phone�
• Video/Audio output from the mobile phone.
Notes:
•
These functions may not be available depending
on the connected device.
•
If there is no battery in the connected device,
charging will not start.
Connecting an MHL-compatible Device
Connect the device to the HDMI 4 port on the TV using
an MHL cable (not supplied)�
HDMI 4
• When you connect an MHL-compatible device to the
HDMI 4 port on the TV with the MHL cable, charging
starts automatically�
Note:
Do not connect an MHL-compatible device to any
port other than the HDMI 4 port.
Operating an MHL-compatible Device
When an MHL-compatible device is connected to the
HDMI 4 port on the TV, input automatically switches to
the HDMI 4 port�
Note:
Depending on the connected MHL-compatible
device, it may be possible to perform operations
from the device.
Selecting the MHL Setup
Selecting whether or not input automatically switches
to the HDMI 4 port when an MHL-compatible device is
connected�

Notes:
•
Do not turn off the AC power source while the TV is
turned on and a device is connected.
•
Do not turn off the AC power source while the TV is
in standby mode and a device is connected.
Exemptions
Interoperability with MHL devices of other manufacturers
is not guaranteed� Toshiba does not provide any guarantee,
therefore, against operational failure such as that described
below when an MHL source is connected to the TV�
• No picture or sound
• Some of the functions do not work by remote operation
from the TV
If the MHL does not work properly, also contact the
manufacturer of the source device for advice on its use�
