Restrictions on PCI expansion cards
The uppermost slot (PCI-1) and the slot under it (PCI-2) support 64 bit/66 MHz PCI
cards, while the slots PCI-3 through PCI-5 are intended for use with 32 bit/33 MHz PCI
cards.
Setting IRQ levels
When setting the IRQ level for installed devices, use the BIOS Setup Utility. For
information, see
BIOS Setup Utility
on page 99.
Refer to the user’s guide that came with the expansion card for detailed information on
that device.
Cautions when adding RAID controllers and SCSI host adapters
If a RAID controller or SCSI host adapter is added to the system, there may be more than
one controller which controls hard disk drives and other start up devices. In this case,
use the BIOS Setup Utility to specify the hard disk drive that will boot the OS (operating
system).
HINT: You must consider the configuration of the existing installed devices when
setting the interrupt level for newly installed devices. Toshiba recommends that you
use Appendix D, Device Log to record device settings.
