5.6.3 Connecting 10 FP TorqLink to external batteries
(gel, AGM, other lithium batteries)
WARNING!
Danger of injury from overheating.
This can result in severe physical injuries or death.
■
Use only genuine cable sets from Torqeedo, or cables with
at least 95 mm² total copper cable cross-section.
■
Power cables must not be extended and must not be routed in bundles.
ADVICE
External batteries must be installed by qualified persons only.

T-piece from 1979-00 kit
ADVICE
A T-piece from the 1979-00 Accessories Kit is connected to the 48 V positive and
negative terminals on the battery bank to supply power to the network.
If you use lead batteries (gel/AGM), we recommend batteries with at least 150 Ah
per battery. The batteries are combined into two groups, each having four batteries
connected in series,

Use the cable kit external batteries - Cruise 10.0 (from 2021) 1979-00 for the series
connection of the batteries. This also includes the TorqLink power input.
Further notes on use and the circuitry is available in the cable kit's instructions for
use of the.
The installation of systems with external batteries, and also the Torqeedo Power
24-3500, must only be carried out by an expert in accordance with all national
regulations (such as ISO 16315 or ABYC E-11).
ADVICE
Use maintenance-free and gas-free batteries exclusively.
1. Confirm that the main switch of the cable set is in the "OFF" or "0” position. If
necessary, place it in the "OFF" or "0" position.
2. Install the battery bank and cabling.
ADVICE
Ensure that the positive and negative clamps are connected to the correct
terminals (recognisable from the markings on batteries and clamps).
3. Throw the main switch over, or set it into the "ON" or "I" position.
The batteries are connected to the motor.
