Web Snapshots
For monitoring purposes, the TANDBERG system’s web interface shows a snapshot of the
incoming video if the system is in a call. Outside of a call, the web snapshot will reflect the local
main camera view or another selectable video source on the system. The snapshot image is
updated every five seconds.
In a call, the system’s web interface also shows and allows selecting the DuoVideo source.
The snapshot picture information is protected by the following security mechanisms:
•
The web snapshots are not stored on the TANDBERG system.
•
The web snapshots are protected by the TANDBERG system’s IP password.
•
The web snapshots are not visible for encrypted calls.
•
The web snapshot functionality is disabled by default. It may be turned on only via the local
codec interfaces (on-screen menu or RS-232 dataport connection).

TANDBERG MultiSite
The TANDBERG 8000 has a built-in MCU (Multi Conference Unit) providing up to four video
sites and one audio site connected in a call with the same high quality audio and video as in a
normal point to point call.
TANDBERG MultiSite supports any combination of ISDN and IP sites.
Furthermore, a combination of External Network (V.35\RS449\RS366\X21\Leased Line T1/E1)
and IP sites is possible under the following prerequisites:
•
An External Network party must be connected first.
•
No ISDN parties can be part of the conference.
The MultiSite supports TANDBERG features Digital Clarity, Natural Video
45
and Duo Video
46
.
TANDBERG MultiSite can be used with the H.263 and H.261 video compression algorithms.
Audio Bridge (normal telephone)
47
:
The TANDBERG MultiSite may also be used as an ISDN telephone bridge with up to five sites
connected; or as a mix of both video- and audio- sites as described in the table below.
Audio Bridge (IP telephone):
It is also possible to add IP telephones into a MultiSite meeting. An IP telephone will ‘count’ as
a normal video site. Thus; maximum 4 IP telephones, 3 IP tele 1 video, 2 IP telephones
+ 2 video or 1 IP tel 3 video.
The following table shows the maximum bandwidth
for each video site
; against the number of
sites in the conference; when connected to various networks supported on the TANDBERG
8000:
45 Natural Video only supported on ISDN (H.320) MultiSite calls in Voice Switched mode
46 Only the ‘host’ can transmit Duo Video in a MultiSite call
47 MSN must be turned
off
to be able to add telephones into a MultiSite call OR (if MSN is ON) the telephone call must be connected before the
video sites are added.
