4.5 Initial Setup Checklist
Effi cient and safe operation of the bale unroller requires
that every user read and understand the operational
instructions and all related safety instructions outlined
in this manual.
This checklist is provided for the user/owner. It is
important for both personal safety and to maintain
the mechanical condition of the bale unroller that this
checklist is followed.
Initial Setup Checklist
(prior to using for the fi rst time)

Location Task
Make sure the bale unroller
is properly attached to
the tractor. Refer to “4.3
Attaching to Tractor” on page
17.
Make sure all hardware
is properly installed and
tightened. Refer to “7.4 Bolt
Torque Requirements” on
page 25.
Lubricate all grease zerks
Refer to “7.2 Greasing” on
page 24.
Make sure the bale unroller is
set for the proper bale size.
Adjust if needed. Refer to
“4.4 Setting the Bale Unroller”
on page 17.
4.6 Implement Break-In
Although there are no operational restrictions on
the bale unroller when used for the fi rst time, it is
recommended that the following mechanical items be
checked:
1. Before operating:
a. Charge the hydraulic cylinder.
b. After charging the cylinder, check the oil level
in the tractor’s hydraulic reservoir.
2. After 1/2 hour of operation:
a. Tighten all fasteners if necessary.
b. Check bale spikes to make sure they are still
secured.
c. Lubricate all grease fi ttings.
3. After 10 hours of operation:
a. Go to the normal servicing and maintenance
schedule, as defi ned in the Maintenance
Section.
