4.10 Unrolling a Bale
1. Remove the wrap and any twine or netting from the
bale before unrolling.
WARNING
Make sure brakes are securely set before getting off
the tractor.
NEVER place any part of your body under the raised
bale when removing twine or netting from the bale.
2. Lower the bale to the ground and drive forward
slowly to unroll the bale.
3. As the bale unrolls, it may be necessary to continue
lowering the bale to keep it in contact with the
ground.
4. Look forward to avoid any obstacles or livestock that
might be in the way.
5. When the desired amount of hay has unrolled, raise
the 3-point hitch and the bale will stop unrolling.
6. Drive the tractor outside the feeding area, and
release the remaining portion of the bale, if any, for
feeding at a later time.
4.11 Detaching From Tractor
1. Move the bale unroller to a level storage location,
extend the parking stand, and lower it to the
ground or onto blocks. Park the tractor, place
the transmission in park or neutral, and apply the
parking brake. Shut down the engine, remove the
key, and wait for all motion to come to a complete
stop before exiting the tractor. Before disconnecting
the bale unroller, the PTO must be disengaged and
blade rotation at a complete stop.
2. Make sure the bale unroller is resting securely on
the ground or blocks, and the wheels are chocked
before attempting to disconnect it from the tractor.

Keep feet and hands from under the bale
unroller and clear of any pinch points caused
by the tractor hitch arms and bale unroller hitch
pins. Never operate the hydraulic 3-point lift controls
while someone is directly behind the tractor.
3. Extend or retract the tractor 3-point hitch top link to
remove tension on the top link hitch pin. When the
pin is loose and easy to rotate, remove the pin from
the top link. Disconnect the lift arms.
4. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the tractor.
Store the hoses on the bale unroller A-Frame.
CAUTION
Explosive Separation Hazard
Be sure all hydraulic pressure is relieved
before disconnecting hydraulic line or fi ttings
between the bale unroller and the tractor
hydraulic system.
