Acknowledge Heat Tracing Cable Temperature Limiter Trips
For a description of a Heat Tracing Cable Temperature Limiter see chapter 1.1.3. In case a TC 816 configured
as Heat Tracing Cable Temperature Limiter is connected to the TCD 01 Tracing Control Display, the TCD 01
displays a value for
MEASURED
,
SETPOINT
and status of
ALARM
In the
LIMITER
-line.
Should the sensed heating cable sheath temperature raise above the
LIMITER
-set point a high tempera-
ture alarm, The TCD 01 Tracing Control Display will automatically show the heat tracing circuit where the Heat
Tracing Cable Temperature Limiter tripped. In the
LIMITER
-line the
-H-
alarm code is displayed and
an message appears in the top right corner
PRESS (Q) TO ACK
.
•
TCD 01 for single phase current display per tracing circuit, with firmware AZ 871, will in addition give a
beep as audible alarm.
•
TCD 01 for three phase current display per tracing circuit, with firmware AZ 884, will not sound an audi-
ble alarm.
Also the hardware high alarm contacts of the AF TPA Thermon Power supply module AC will trip (see TC 816
Hardware Configuration Guide).

iter trip
Acknowledge the Heat Tracing Cable Temperature Limiter trip as follows:
1.
Press the
button.
2.
The password protection of the TCD 01 Tracing Control Display has to be activated, in case a Heat
Tracing Cable Temperature Limiter is connected to the TCD 01, see note in chapter 3.3.2, Therefore
the TCD 01 will prompt for a password. See chapter 3.4 for how to input the password.
3.
After the password has been entered successful, the TCD will display either:
a.
Remains in the same circuit showing
--ACKNOWLEDGED--
in the top right corner
of the display, see figure below.
or
b.
Jump to another circuit which is an un-acknowledged alarm status.
