Removing the Tungsten Lamp
 To remove the tungsten lamp
1. Turn the detector off, unplug the power cord from the power receptacle on the back
panel, and allow sufficient time for the lamps to cool before you remove the lamp cover.
2. Open the front doors of the detector.
3. Using the 1/8 in. ball-end hex screwdriver (supplied), unscrew the captive retaining screw
on the lamp cover (see Figure 28 on page 39 ).
4. Pull the cover straight back to expose the lamp assemblies.
5. Gently unplug the tungsten lamp lead from the detector (see Figure 31 ).
Take care not to twist the connector.

6. Loosen and remove the thumbscrew that holds the lamp assembly in place.
7. Pull the assembly straight out and remove it from the detector.
CAUTION Because intense UV light can damage your eyes, the detector automatically
turns off the lamps when you remove the lamp cover. As a secondary precaution, turn
off the detector and unplug it from line power.
CAUTION Because the lamps run hot, turn off the power and allow sufficient time
(approximately 30 minutes) for the lamps to cool before you remove the lamp cover.
