Troubleshooting
This section sets out brief solutions for problems which may occur during installation or
operation of the soundcard.
Is it necessary to move jumpers and change switch settings before I install the
soundcard?
No.There are no jumpers!
The soundcard does not generate any sound.
• Check the connection between the soundcard and speakers.
• With passive speakers check if the amplifier is switched on.
• Active speakers or HiFi system connected?
• Check the control settings of the software mixer.
How can I record from a HiFi system?
Connect the line output of your HiFi system to the In-1 port of the soundcard. Use the record out
port of a tape connection on the HiFi amplifier as the output.
When I have installed the soundcard, the sound effects of the games which I have
already installed are still output via the PC’s own speaker.
Change the configuration of your games. Please also consult the operating instructions of the
games.
Why are background noises constantly played back via the speakers?
A lot of consideration was given to achieving the best audio characteristics when the soundcard
was being designed. However, it is still possible that interference caused by graphic cards,
video cards, hard disk controllers or mains parts will affect the audio signal in certain computer
configurations. In general, the built in amplifier is very receptive for such interference. Use
active speakers or switch off the amplifier and use your HiFi system. Install the soundcard in
your computer as far away as possible from the above-mentioned sources of interference.
