Making an External Call

To make an external call using the DP200 Display Phone,
complete the following steps:

1. Lift the handset.

2. Press

for an external line.

•

An external dial tone sounds, enabling you
to make your call. A busy signal means that
all external lines are in use. An error signal
(a series of beeps) means that your extension
can’t be used to make an external call.

Note

By enabling Direct External Dial Tone, you don’t
have to press

to get an external dial tone. For

more information, see “Enabling Direct External
Dial Tone,” page 15.

3. Dial the phone number.

Direct External Dial Tone

You can customize your DP200 Display Phone so that you
don’t have to press

to get an external dial tone.
