Chapter 3 Operation

3.1 Software Installation

Computer hardware and software configuration:

Hardware: standard personal computer (PC), has a main unit, monitor, keyboard, mouse and

at least one USB port for connecting to FL970.

Software: Microsoft Windows7 (32-bit) or Windows10 (64-bit) operating system. Microsoft

Office software must also be installed if the user needs to export the data.

Choose the correct version of the FLA software from the USB flash disk, according to the

configuration of the PC, then make the setup clicking.

3.2 Communication Port Installation

Connect the instrument to the computer with a USB communication cable and turn on the

power switch. The computer will recognize a new hardware serial port. If not, it is necessary to

install the driver.( the driver is available in the USB flash disk)

3.3 Uninstall FL Analyst

Remove the FL970 Analyst software in the control panel of the PC.

3.4 Software Initialization and Exit

1)

Connect the instrument to the computer with a USB communication cable and turn on

the power switch. The instrument will initialize itself and this will take about 5 minutes.

2)

Double Click the shortcut of “FL Analyst” on the desktop to enter the software

initialization interface.

3)

As shown in Figure 3-1, the software will automatically identify the instruments

connected to COM1 to COM8 and display information such as instrument model, serial number,

software version number and connection of optional accessories.
