7. Adjustments and operations

Operations - important points

1.  Retighten nuts and bolts after the first day of work. Check the conditions of pins 

and cotter pins. Then, retighten every 24 hours of service.

2.  Carefully observe the lubrication intervals.
3.  The correct inflation of the tires is important to keep an uniform sowing. Maintain 

the same pressure.

4.  When filling up the seeder, check if it is properly coupled to the tractor. Also, 

check if there is any object inside the hoppers that may damage the metering 

system.

5.  If the seeder is equipped with an horizontal seed metering, clean the plates 

twice a day and observe the functioning of the metering box.

6.  Always use impurity-free seeds and fertilizer.
7.  Inspect the seed metering boxes twice a day and observe the functioning of the 

fertilizer metering box.

8.  Keep the equipment leveled.
9.  Periodically check the established adjustments at the beginning of sowing.
10. Give special attention to the position of the fertilizer related to the seed.
11. Carefully check the seed depth and the compaction pressure.
12. It is important to keep a constant speed throughout the sowing.
13. Using the helical seed metering system = 8 km/h.
14. Using the horizontal seed metering = 5 km/h for corn.
15. Using the horizontal seed metering = 7 km/h for soybean.
16. The tractor drawbar must remain fixed during work and transportation.
17. When the seeder is equipped with row markers, it is necessary to correctly use 

it in order to avoid future wastes.

18. Never perform maneuvers or use reverse gear when the row units are lowered 

to the ground.

19. In order to perform any verification on the equipment, lower it to the ground 

level and shut down the tractor engine.

20. During work or transportation, do not allow any passengers on the tractor or 

equipment.

21. As previously mentioned, the SDA³ and SDA³ E seeders feature many adjustments. 

However, only the local conditions can define their best adjustments.
