USING VOIP

The TalkSwitch system supports inter-branch connectivity over VoIP lines. 
The system has 50 VoIP numbers (250-299) that can be dialed from an 
extension or auto attendant. The TalkSwitch unit automatically finds the 
VoIP lines for placing these calls.

Other calls are made over VoIP by dialing a line hunt group. Line hunt groups 
87 and 88 uses VoIP lines by default. Set up a TalkSwitch profile or Service 
Provider profile first, then set up VoIP numbers that use the profile, and then 
select the profile for the line hunt group. Dialing the line hunt group at the 
internal dial tone tells the TalkSwitch system to hunt for an available VoIP 
line.

The TalkSwitch unit requires a VoIP module if teleworkers will use external IP 
extensions. The external IP extensions are local extensions, and function like 
internal IP extensions at the office.

Example: 

You have three branch locations (San Francisco, New York, Miami).

Location 1: San Francisco
Twelve VoIP numbers (250-261) are assigned to four VoIP lines.

Location 2: New York
Four VoIP numbers (270-273) are assigned to four VoIP lines.

Location 3: Miami
Four VoIP numbers (280-283) are assigned to four VoIP lines.
