FINAL TESTING
7.4 OUTPUT MEASUREMENT
The removal of combustion products and measure
-
ment of the temperature of the same can be carried
out by making a hole at the end of the fume flexible
hose (see fig. 7.3).
At the end of measurement, the operator must firmly
close the hole in order to ensure sealing of the evac-
uation duct of the combustion products during normal
operation of the system.

N.B.
If downstream of the generator there are
heat recovery systems, the hole must be
located on the section of evacuation duct
of the combustion products exiting the
recovery systems; it involves a non-in-
sulated metal fume duct, located inside
the environment (see fig. 7.4) which gi
-
ves heat to the environment both by con-
vection and by irradiation.
If the concentration of CO evident on the condition
of dry and airless non-combustible combustion prod
-
ucts is greater than 0.1% (1000 ppm) and cannot
be brought back below this value through the inter
-
vention of the conductor or of the maintenance tech-
nician,
the result of combustion control is to be
considered negligible, regardless of the meas-
ured value of combustion efficiency.
7.4.1 Measurement of the combustion air temperature
It must be carried out at an appropriate point of the pipe in the combustion air supply.
At the end of measurement, the operator must firmly close the hole in order to ensure sealing of the duct du
-
ring normal operation of the system.
