9. Installation

9.1 Inspection

Upon receipt of the goods, check that the packaging and 

the contents are not visibly damaged. Otherwise contact 

System Electronics.

9.2 Fixing the units

The unit is designed for easy mounting on a special rear 

base (optional for fixing scope only), which can be fixed 

to  any  vertical  surface  by  means  of  a  pair  of  screws 

(Figure 9.2.1).

The unit is coupled to the base by means of a series of 

trapezoidal teeth placed at the upper and lower ends. 

The teeth are coupled via the slots on the base.
The  upper  slots  of  the  base  are  located  in  mobile 

elements held in place by springs.

The  mounting  base  must  be  fixed  first.  The  unit  is 

inserted by placing the upper teeth on the mobile slots, 

exerting enough pressure to load the springs and allow 

the insertion of the lower teeth in their seats (Figure 

9.2.2).
Disassembly takes place in a similar way: one presses 

upwards freeing the lower teeth (Figure 9.2.3).
To ensure an efficient flow of air inside, it is advisable 

to mount the unit vertically and provide sufficient space 

for ventilation from the lower side.
The panel in which the Quad EtherCAT Microstepping 

Drive  is  installed  must  be  protected  from  dust  and 

liquids.
