Maintaining the PTC-2124
Operating conditions
If the PTC is operated at low
temperatures, the display may
darken, and the response time may
be slow. Although the PTC-2124 is designed to resist dust,
dirt, and moisture, it should not be used in excessively
dirty or moist conditions. The PTC can be operated at
temperatures between –4
°
and 122
°
F (–20
°
to 50
°
C).
Handling the PTC
The following information will help to ensure that you
receive safe, reliable, and trouble-free service from
your PTC-2124
• Do not open the PTC’s case. Only a trained
Symbol technician can service the parts inside the
PTC.
• If you have stored the PTC or its battery pack in
below-freezing temperatures for more than 1 hour,
the battery pack may be too cold to charge. When
the pack warms up to room temperature, charging
will begin, provided the pack is connected to an
appropriate power source.
• If you store the PTC in below-freezing
temperatures for more than 1 hour, you can
improve the display’s performance by waiting
until the unit warms up to room temperature
before using it.
• Suspend the PTC before you replace the battery
pack.
