Maintaining the battery pack

Lithium-ion batteries

Overview

Lithium-ion batteries can be recharged a number of
times. While in use, they provide nearly constant
discharge voltage.

Maintenance

Other than for routine recharging, the battery pack is
maintenance free.

Disposal

Lithium-ion battery packs are hazardous waste. See
Chapter 2 for information on how to dispose of them
properly.

Replacing the battery pack

Removing the battery pack

Follow these steps to remove the battery pack.

! You must suspend the PTC-1800
before replacing its battery pack.

! Do not leave the PTC-1800 without
a battery pack installed. The bridge
battery drains in 10 hours, and all
data in RAM will be lost!

Suspend the PTC-1800.

Turn the PTC-1800 over so the back is facing you.

Press the battery pack release button as you slide
the pack away from the PTC-1800.

Lift the battery pack off of the PTC-1800.
