Applications
This guide is not for the user. It is for
the individual tasked with training
and maintaining the units. The following applications are available for the
PTC-1800:
• Data
• Telephone
• VoiceAlert
See Chapters 9, 10, and 11 for instructions on using
each of these applications.
Backlight
The PTC-1800's backlight lights up the screen to
enhance readability in dim lighting conditions. The
backlight turns on automatically when the PTC-1800
boots up and turns off when the keyboard has not
been used for 20 seconds or when a telephone call is
being received. The backlight may be reactivated by
pressing any of the PTC-1800's keys.
Clock
The PTC-1800's built-in clock keeps track of the date
(month, day, year, and day of the week) and the time
(hours, minutes and seconds). The clock operates
continuously.
