Low-battery warning

The PTC-1800 warns you when the battery pack or
the bridge battery is running out of power. Table 4
shows the low-battery warnings and the actions you
should take to correct them.

Table 4. Low-battery warning

Power management

The exact amount of time before the
PTC-1800 enters any mode depends
on how your PTC-1800 has been pro-
grammed.

The power management feature conserves battery
power by slowing down or deactivating internal
components of the PTC-1800. This feature is activated
in levels, or modes, depending on the unit's operation
and configuration.

Run mode

This is the PTC-1800's normal operating mode. All
resources are functional.

Suspend mode

Pressing the

On/Off

key terminates

any active telephone call(s). The unit
will not accept telephone calls while
suspended.

The PTC-1800 goes into suspend mode after
approximately 1 min. of inactivity or when the On/Off
key is pressed (see note below). During this mode, the
PTC-1800's screen goes blank, the backlight turns off,
and other subsystems inside the PTC-1800 may slow
down or turn off to conserve power. The application
program running at the time in which it is suspended,
and any data in RAM is protected.
