Building Acoustics Assistant
(
BA Assistant
) is an application for smartphones and tablets with the
Android operating system, dedicated to assessments of airborne or impact sound insulation in buildings
and of building elements in accordance with the next standards:

building elements -- Part 1: Airborne sound insulation,

ISO 140-4:1998 Acoustics -- Measurement of sound insulation in buildings and of building
elements -- Part 4: Field measurements of airborne sound insulation between rooms,

sound insulation of façade elements and

BA Assistant
is dedicated as well to assessments of speech intelligibility (STI) induced by the
transmission channel in accordance with the standards: IEC 60268-16:2011, DIN VDE 0833-4 and
AS 1670.4. The applications of STI include evaluation of sound reinforcement and emergency systems,
communication channels, speech intelligibility, communication in rooms and auditoria, etc.
