REVERSE LOCK RELEASE CABLE
Check the reverse lock release cable play. The cable
adjuster is located at the inside of the fuel tank right
side cover. The cable play should be 1.0–2.0 mm
(0.04–0.08 in) at the reverse lock release cable knob
A
as shown.
Reverse lock release cable play:
1.0–2.0 mm (0.04–0.08 in)
If adjustment is necessary, carry out the procedure
below:
1. Loosen the lock nut

2. Turn the adjuster
C
to obtain 1.0–2.0 mm (0.04–
0.08 in) of free play.
3. Tighten the lock nut

while holding the adjuster
C
. Place the rubber boot
D
.
BRAKE PEDAL
Check the rear brake pedal height. If the rear brake
pedal height is not correct, adjust in the following
manner:
Brake pedal height: 0–10 mm (0–0.4 in)
1. Loosen the lock nut

2. Rotate the push rod
B
to locate the pedal at 0–10
mm (0–0.4 in) below the top face of the footrest

Be sure to measure this height carefully.
3. Tighten the lock nut

to the specified torque.

PARKING BRAKE
Parking brake adjustment may be required if the park-
ing brake does not work properly.
Parking brake cable length: 47–51 mm (1.9–2.0 in)
1. Loosen the lock nut

. Turn out the adjuster

2. Loosen the lock nut

. Turn the adjuster
C
so that
cable length is 47–51 mm (1.9–2.0 in). Tighten the
lock nut

3. Turn the adjuster
B
clockwise until it stops, then
turn the adjuster counterclockwise 1/8–1/4 turn.
4. Tighten the lock nut

while holding the adjuster
B
in position.

After adjustment, be sure to check for reverse
lock function.
After adjusting the parking brake, check that
there is no dragging when turning the rear
wheel with the wheel off the ground. Also
check the rear wheels are locked when the
parking brake is set.
