Have the engine warmed u p by id l i n g
befo re test i n g i t .

Remove the spark p l u g .
•

absolutely tigh t.
•
Tu rn the th rottl e l ever i n to w ide-open positi o n .
•
Cra n k the eng i n e for a few seco nds w it h sta rter,
and read the h ig h est gauge i n d icat i o n as the
compression of the cy l i nder.
