The  sta rter  system  is  s h own  i n  the d ia g ra m  be l ow :  namely, the sta rter  motor,  sta rter rel ay,  neutra l  relay, 
reverse  switch , neutra l  switc h ,  sta rte r button , engine stop switch , i g n ition switch a n d  battery .  Depress i n g  the 
sta rter  b utton  ( o n   the  l eft  h a n d l eba r  switch  box )  energ izes  the  re lay, cau s i ng  the contact  po i nts to c l ose 

which connects the sta rter moto r to the battery .  The  motor d raws about 80 a m pe res to sta rt the e n g i n e  .
