The Xpert provides a very weak bias to maintain the idle condition. If the connecting

device is expecting strong bus biasing, then external biasing resistors can be added. One resistor
between the COM9 pin 2 signal and ground with a second resistor between COM9 pin 3 signal
and 5 or +12V. For mild biasing, use 100K resistors. For much stronger biasing, use
10K resistors.
