3. Setup the BioStar System

• To read the data from the card, click

Read Card

(the LED on the

device you selected will begin flashing) and then place the card on
the device. After the card has been read, click

3.5.3.2 Issue HID proximity cards

To register a card for a user,
1. Click

User

in the shortcut pane.

2. In the navigation pane, click a user's name.
3. In the User pane, click the Card tab.
4. Select “HID Prox” from the Card Type drop-down list.
5. Click

Card Management

. This will open the Card Management

window.

6. Select a Device ID from the drop-down list.
7. Enter a card ID and facility code (FC) either manually or by reading

from the card (you can also click

Use User ID

to insert the user’s ID

in these fields):
• To enter the data manually, type the ID and facility code in the

corresponding fields, click

, and then skip to step 8.

• To read the data from the card, click

Read Card

(the LED on the
