6-8 Removing and Installing the Backplane
The F424AG chassis backplane is located behind the hard drives in each
serverboard node. Although backplane failure rarely occurs, in the event of a
backplane failure, follow the instructions below.
Removing the Backplane
Removing the Backplane from the Node
1. Remove the power cord from the rear of the node as described in Section
6-3. Remove the node from the chassis as described in Section 6-4. Place
the node on a fl at, stable surface and remove the node cover as described in
Section 6-7.
2. Lift the mylar air shroud off the top of the serverboard and remove it from the
node.
3. Remove the two screws securing the backplane to the node.

4. Lift the backplane up and out of the node.
