Installing Gas Conversion Kits
WARNING
The gas supply shall be shut OFF prior to disconnecting the electrical power, before
proceeding with the conversion.

1.
TURN OFF THE GAS SUPPLY TO THE FIREPLACE and disconnect power supply at the circuit breaker. Ensure
fireplace is cold.

Open the lower control compartment door

3.
Remove the barrier, front glass door/frame from the fireplace

4.
Remove the logs. If necessary, remove the log grate.
NOTE:
Exercise care so as not to break the logs

5.
Remove the sub floor.
6.
Remove the two (2) screws securing the burner assembly. Remove the burner assembly with the attached
venturi tube.

Refer to the instructions provided with the SIT Regulator Conversion Kit, and
Figure 42
. Using a Torx T20
driver (with 1/4” shank) or slotted screwdriver, remove and discard the pressure regulator mounting screws
(two screws for electronic models, three screws for millivolt models), pressure regulator tower, the diaphragm
assembly (if applicable) and the spring. Discard all removed components.

8.
Install the new pressure regulator assembly using the supplied screws. Tighten the screws to 25 in. lbs.
9.
Install the enclosed identification label to the valve body where it can be easily seen.
10.
Remove the pilot hood assembly to access the hex pilot orifice
(
Figure 43
)
. Remove and replace the pilot
orifice with the one provided with the kit. Exercise extreme care to prevent damage to or breakage of the igniter
assembly.
11.
Remove the burner orifice from the manifold and replace it with the one provided in the kit
(
Figure 44
)
.
