VPN (Virtual Private Network)

Objective:

A virtual private network (VPN) extends your home network across a public network
and enables you to send and receive data across public networks as if your devices
were directly connected to the home network. Such devices (also called

“

VPN-clients

”

)

may therefore benefit from the functionality, security, and management of the home
network. Your Sunrise Internet Box can establish a secured and encrypted VPN
connection to another device (

“

RoadWarrior

”

, see Subsection 3.4.10.1 and 3.4.10.2) or

another home network (

“

Net-to-Net

”

, see Subsection 3.4.10.3 to 3.4.10.5).

You will find a troubleshooting section answering the most common questions of the
VPN configuration in Subsection 3.4.10.6.

3.4.10.1 Configuration of RoadWarrior on your Internet Box

Objective:

This section describes the necessary steps to prepare and enable the VPN feature on
your Sunrise Internet Box in order to connect Clients (so called RoadWarriors) to it in a
second stage.
