2.3.4.1   Auto SPID Detect
This is supported by Bellcore National ISDN-3 protocol. Therefore,
the module must be set for NAT’L protocol and a National ISDN-3
protocol circuit must be under test. To start:
1.  Press AUTO while in any ISDN-BRI menu screen.
2.  Select AUTO SPID DETECT and the module automatically

queries the switch for the proper SPID and phone numbers
associated with the line.

3. When the switch responds with the SPID numbers, the test

set displays them along with the associated phone numbers.
In addition they are entered into the TEST CONFIGURATION
screen. If the switch does not respond with the SPIDs, the test
set displays TEST FAILED. A common reason is that the line
is not using the required National ISDN-3 protocol.

2.3.4.2 Guess SPID
Use when the phone number of the line is known, but not the ac-
tual SPID number assigned to it. The test set tries multiple SPID
values based on common implementation. If it finds the proper
SPID value, it will use this value for testing.

Use this procedure:
1. Press AUTO while in any ISDN-BRI menu screen and select

GUESS SPID. See the left screen in Figure 18.

2. Enter the 10 digit phone numbers associated with the line

using SHIFT and the numeric keypad, press F4 to start.

3. While the test set is trying to find the correct SPID, “WAIT

TEST IN PROGRESS” is displayed.

4. If the correct SPIDs are found, “TEST COMPLETED; SPID#1

OK, SPID#2 OK” and the SPID values are displayed along with
a green LP1 SYNC LED. The SPID values are automatically
entered into the TEST CONFIGURATION screen. If the SPIDs
cannot be found, FAILED is displayed.
