Error Code and Connection Messages
Fault/Error code text will appear on the option display to indicate a specific fault. The fault
codes in Table 6 are displayed on the LED operator built in the drive and/or the option
displays. For information on the fault codes not listed in Table 6 , refer to the unit manual.
When an option fault occurs, ensure that the communication cable is properly connected to
the option and it is not loose.
Contact your nearest Sumitomo representative or sales department if the cable appears to be
connect properly but still no message appears to indicate the error.

LED Operator (JVOP-182-H) Communication Error 1
Occurs when the unit cannot communicate with the option within
5 seconds after the power is switched on.
Cause Possible Solution
Communication cable between the option and the
unit is not properly connected.
Remove and reconnect the option.
Problem with the option. Replace the option.
Problem with the control circuit in the unit.
• Cycle power to the unit.
• Replace the unit.

Occurs when the unit does not respond to the option for longer
than 2 seconds.
Cause Possible Solution
Connector on the option cable is loose or
damaged.
Remove and reconnect the option.
Problem with the option. Replace the option.
Problem with the control circuit in the unit.
• Cycle power to the unit.
• Replace the unit.
