4. Precautions
The external part (with con compressor) of Split-Air CST units is designed to operate as
a wall-type unit and in an upright position. For all models the compressor in the external part is and
must always be in an upright position.The external parts of Split-Air units may not be used or
transported in a position other than that for which they have been designed. The external and the
internal part are pre-filled with refrigerant. After having connected the refrigerant circuits of both
parts, the refrigerant charge must be completed (see procedure in chapter 12: Installation).
WARNING!
When the charge is completed, never run the machine if you have discovered
leakage of the coolant fluid.
If traces of oil are present on the unit, which point to a loss of coolant, on the inside or the outside,
then the equipment must be thoroughly checked before starting the unit and, if necessary, STULZ's
technical department should be contacted.
Machine connections and the main electric components are located on special boards:
• inside the internal unit, at the bottom
• inside the external unit accessible from the front.
5. Safety Considerations
The installation and handling of cooling units may be hazardous as they form a pressurised system
with electric components.
Only skilled personnel may repair, inspect or maintain the cooling units.
Unskilled staff may only replace the filter, if present. All other operations must be performed by
personnel who are experienced and qualified in the maintenance of cooling systems.
Before servicing this unit, refer to the instructions contained in this manual, check the data on the
data plate and follow any other precaution to ensure optimum safety.
WARNING!
Never work on the unit without having disconnected all power supplies before !
