POSITIONING OF OUTDOOR (MOTOR-CONDENSING) UNIT
1. The condensing unit must be positioned outside the shelter.
2. The condensing unit must be connected to the indoor unit by two refrigerant pipes. These pipes
should be as short as possible, and in any case their length must not be more than 30m for
R407c.
3. The outdoor unit must be installed with a minimum distance of 250 mm from the shelter wall, to
reach the designed air flow inside it.
4. Leave enough space for easy application, installation and maintenance (see drawings on Chapter
17: maintenance);
5. If possible, choose a position for the outdoor unit far from polluting agents and protected from
direct sun radiation, to ensure the highest efficiency of the system. Do not obstruct the air
suction and discharge area. Make sure that the unit can not be covered by snow.
6. Provide a secure fixing for the unit, if necessary with additional supports. In case of wall
installation, to support the motor-condensing unit, is available also a mounting kit as option
(MKITSO, see Chapter 19: Options). This option includes a pair of shelves of galvanised steel,
with standard RAL7032 orange peel painting and anti-vibration supports.
NOTE: the screw anchors included in the kit are suitable to fix the shelves only to concrete or
brick walls. For other kinds of wall (for instance sandwich type), the most suitable fixing system
must be used.
If the above mentioned optional kit is not used, suitable anti-vibration supports shall be used in
any case between the motor-condensing unit and the shelves, to avoid vibration transmission.
Check also that the used shelves are suitable to support the weight of motor-condensing unit
with a safety margin.
WATER CONNECTIONS
During the cooling cycle, part of the air humidity condenses on the evaporating coil. The condensate
is collected in the tank under the coil and must be drained outside.
For this purpose a drain tube for the condensate is supplied with the unit. It is made of PVC.
To position this tube, the following instructions must be respected:
•
CAUTION: DO NOT INTERCONNECT THE OUTLETS OF DIFFERENT
MACHINES.
•
Make sure there is at least a 2% gradient towards the drain outlet.
•
There must be a drain trap placed at least 30 mm below the drain tank.
•
Fill the drain trap with water, pouring it into the condensate tank.
