19.3 PROTECTIVE TREATMENT ON COILS - TREAT
Epoxy treatment on condenser and evaporator coil surfaces to protect them against corrosion.
This treatment reduces condenser coil efficiency. Not suitable to very corrosive ambients (salt
deposits, etc.).
19.4 R134a REFRIGERANT
With standard R407c the upper limit of external temperature is +45°C. With R134a, units can work
up at higher external temperatures (60-65°C), although also the operating temperature limit of the
condenser fans has to be verified. Since with R134a, compressors have a lower efficiency than
with R407c, with this option a bigger compressor is installed to achieve roughly the same total
cooling capacity as with standard R407c refrigerant.
NOTE: with R134a refrigerant, single phase power supply is available only for CVS40/50/60.
19.5 CRANKCASE HEATER FOR COMPRESSOR – CRA
This heating resistance, installed around compressor carter, operates when compressor is OFF,
to keep lubricating oil warm. This function assures constant lubricating performance of oil at the
compressor start. It is necessary only when outdoor temperature might go below –20°C.
19.6 MAIN SWITCH - SWT/SWM
This is located on the electrical panel and is used to disconnect main power supply to the unit.
When switched off, it interrupts power supply to the unit circuits from it downstream. According to
the indications on chapter 13, a main switch must always be installed upstream from the unit, in
order to cut-off power supply to the unit before performing any operation during installation or
maintenance. This switch can be provided by the installer as well, or it can be requested ordering
this option. SWT is the version for 3-phase main power supply, SWM the version for single-phase
main power supply.

19.7 DUCT FOR VERTICAL INDOOR UNIT – DVINxx
This option is the connecting duct between the opening on the cabinet wall and the opening on the
evaporating unit for fresh air intake during free-cooling. It is necessary for Split-Air units with free-
cooling, when the evaporating unit is wall-mounted in a vertical position. If, in this case, this option
is not ordered, the client must provide it. It consists of a rectangular section duct of zinc plate steel
sheet with plastic coating and a 90° curve, to adapt vertical opening on the wall to horizontal hole
on the evaporating unit. Dimensions of the opening on the cabinet wall for fresh air intake are:

Width = 650 mm; Height = 220 mm for Split-Air CST40/50;
•
Width = 770 mm; Height = 270 mm for Split-Air CST60/80.
This opening shall be protected by a rain-proof grille, supplied as option (GRxxSOP) or provided
by the client.
