Fig. 25 shows the front side of the IL1, its
'face' facing the the interferometer (eas-
ily recognizable by the Lasertex logo).
Turn the lens so that it is ready for align-
ment (see fig. 25). At the back, facing the
reflector element, the lens should be
open, i.e. the target points should be ver-
tical (in contrast to the front).
Please make sure to secure the IL1 to a
non-movable part of the machine. It
should stay fixed during measurement,
preferably not subject to vibration
caused by running the reflector along
the axis.
Ideally, the axis of measurement should
be perfectly horizontal to the ground its
on. In such cases, use the inclinometer
on the IL1 to adjust level. Fig. 26 shows
where the laser beam should hit the lens
(red spot).
Once established, open the lens by turn-
ing it 90° (the targets should be vertical).
If all goes well and IL1 and RL1 are in
line, the laser beam should reflect back
on the interferometer as one dot.
