Signal Strength - EB

The

EB command can be used to query the current signal strength as estimated by the

demodulator. This command returns the E

(a signal strength measurement) in dB. If the

current version of software in the demodulator does not support this feature the result of the

query will be a “Not Supported” error. If the demodulator is not acquired, the result of the query

will be “Not Available.”

5.8

Fall Back Carrier - FBC

The

FBC command is used to setup a carrier in cases where the carrier is lost for a number of

seconds specified by the timeOut. The

FBC command is used on carriers that have backup

transponders.
The

FBC command comes in two forms:

FBC

Query the current

FBC

settings. The response will display the

frequency, data rate, and timeOut set for the FBC.

Where the parameters are defined as:

Frequency:

The fallback carrier L-Band frequency

920000 to 2050000:

The carrier frequency in kilohertz.

No fallback carrier

Data Rate:

The fallback carrier data rate

512000 to 25000000:

The data rate in hertz.

No fallback carrier

TimeOut:

The TimeOut before the fallback carrier is tried

20 to 4294967295:

Number of seconds to wait before trying

the fallback carrier.

No fallback carrier

If any of the fallback carrier parameters are zero the receiver will not attempt to find a fallback

carrier. The

FBC settings are saved in non-volatile memory.

5.9

Fade Counter - FC

The

FC command keeps track of the number of fades the receiver has undergone since the last

time the counter was cleared. The counter can be cleared by issuing this command with a

parameter of 0. The

FC value is stored in non-volatile memory. The counter is capable of

counting up to 4 billion fades.
